"Government scholarships are scattered all over the place."
These are the words of the Public Service Commission chairman Rishi Ram who said that at the moment, scholarships are divided under three departments, some handled by the PSC, Fijian Affairs Board and Multi Ethnic Affairs.
Ram added that the commission in an attempt to cut costs is looking at ensuring that all these scholarships come under one roof.
Ram added that consultation work has already started.
Interim Prime Minister Commdore Frank Bainimarama yesterday informed cabinet that the aim of the review will be to provide assistance to students based on merit without any discrimination on the parental income bracket, full or partial scholarships and the number of bonded years.
