Businessman Pita Alifereti and civil servant Peli Kete have both been found guilty of official corruption as part of the Agriculture Scam before Justice Isikeli Mataitoga this afternoon.

Alifereti was found guilty on three counts of official corruption, giving a total sum of one hundred and twenty two thousand, seven hundred and twenty nine dollars, seventy two cents ($122,729.72) by way of cash and other payments to three civil servants on account of acts done and afterwards to be done by them in the discharge of their duties as civil servants.

Kete was found guilty of one count of official corruption by receiving from Alifereti, the sum of eight thousand two hundred and thirty dollars for acts done and afterwards to be done by him in the discharge of his duty.

The two have been bailed $2,000 to appear in Court on Wednesday for sentencing.

Their lawyers have been given until then for mitigation.
