The Fiji Sawmillers Association is now trying to put together guidelines which would help determine future royalties to be charged for cutting timber for export and other purposes.
Association President Jay Dayal said this is to ensure that there is no dispute between the stakeholders and the government in the future over timber royalties.
The Saw Millers and government were at logger heads earlier after the government increased the timber royalties by 27 percent.
This decision was later repealed after talks between the two parties.
