Meanwhile, in Labasa, a secondary school has been set up as an evacuation center with over 300 people already seeking shelter.
Guru Nanak Secondary school manager Nirmal Singh said they opened up the school yesterday and people are still flocking in.
In Tabia, Labasa, the situation has worsened overnight with Baram Deo, a resident in the area, saying that five houses have been damaged.
Apart from damages to houses, residents have also recorded damages to their trees as well as to their sugar cane plantations.
In Seaqaqa, 50 people who have sought shelter at Seaqaqa have moved to the nearby secondary school as winds pick up.
School manager Mohameed Aruf said the families have brought whatever food they could carry and are seeking shelter as their homes are not safe.
Police confirmed that the curfew is now in force for the entire northern division.
Assistant spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that while the curfew has been lifted for the rest of Fiji, it is still in force for the north and people in the northern division are advised to remain indoors.
Permanent secretary for information Lieutenant Colonel Neumi Leweni has confirmed that they will make decisions later today for a curfew for other parts of Fiji.
