The Savusavu soccer team is trying to rope in some of its former players who are now playing in other districts.

Coach Ali Hussein said they will get tough competition in the Super Premier Division next year and it will be a wise move to get back their former players.

Hussein said they are holding talks with Navua defender Pene Erenio and Labasa’s Thomas Vulivuli and there are some players from other districts who may feature for Savusavu next year.

According to Hussein, Savusavu will not import any players from overseas and will rely on local talent.

He added one of their main aims next year is to win the National Soccer League title.

Savusavu beat Nasinu 1-0 last week at Subrail Park and yesterday at the TFL Stadium, both teams were locked nil-all at full time which paved the way forward for Savusavu.

The team is currently on their way home and is expected to be hosted with a reception this afternoon.
