Savusavu to have open day
The three day event starts next Thursday and will provide traders with the opportunity to showcase and sell their commodities.
Administrator Vijay Chand said the concept is fairly new to Savusavu and will stimulate growth and create a hive of activity for the town.
Chand said the Council is preparing itself to revamp its trading patterns with the view of providing the much needed impetus for growth.
The event which will provide a fun fair type of atmosphere is expected to attract large crowd from all sectors including those from neighbouring villages.
According Chand, the Open Day Savusavu On Sale concept will provide the Council with improved customer services and to improve public profile of the municipal.
He added that ratepayers, business houses and citizens will be free to meet the Council staff and discuss issues pertaining to their accounts, properties and the development of the town and special areas such as health, agriculture, police, National Fire Authority and banking will be represented at the show.
A major feature of the event is firewalling ceremony which will be held on 23rd July at 9.45 pm.
