The Savusavu soccer team is a step closer to playing in the promotion relegation series after defeating Tailevu and Naitasiri in the first leg of the Premier final 3-2 at Ratu Cakobau Park yesterday.

But, the loss did not go well with Tailevu and Naitasiri officials after they claimed that Fiji FA Vice-President Faiyaz Ali influenced the referee to favour the visitors.

Tailevu/Naitasiri equalized at the stroke of fulltime but Savusavu scored the winning goal in injury time to have an upper hand going into the return leg in Ganilau Park.

Savusavu will just need a draw at home to win the Premier title and face Nasinu in the promotion relegation series.
