Hotel and Resort owners in Savusavu are working on strategies to attract more visitors to their shores.
Savusavu Tourism Association President, Greg Tailor said most of the hotel and resort owners are giving discounts to the visitors.
It was revealed last year that some big cruise liners will not go to Savusavu now and as a result the Savusavu Tourism Association is working on plans to attract more tourists to Savusavu.
Meanwhile, Tourism Fiji said consistency is important when targeting visitor arrival goals especially regarding New Zealand as they are our second largest tourism market.
Chairman Patrick Wong said in targeting 103,000 visitors from New Zealand, Fiji has to compete with other pacific island countries for the numbers.
Wong said this year they will work towards the arrival numbers not only from New Zealand but Australia as well.
