Airports Fiji Limited chairman believes that the upgrading works at the Savusavu Airport will help boost visitor arrivals and create more employment opportunities for local residents.
Digsby Bossley said the $5m airport upgrade decision is welcoming adding that more flights are expected to increase tourist numbers in the North.
He added that the Savusavu Airport will be temporarily closed on July 14th, however arrangements have been made by airline companies for Savusavu bound passengers to travel via Labasa airport and by road to their destination.
