Savou stands by decision to drop key players
Speaking to Village Sports, Savou said he was informed by Sigatoka Police in-charge Salacieli Navilawasa that Naba, Nasiga and Ratuva are tied up with work commitments but was surprised to hear that they played for the Police team in the Rosi ni Saroni 7's in Sigatoka on Saturday.
Savou added that Neumi Nanuku did not attend the fitness test and will also miss out on selection.
The Prison Warden said that this is not the first time a decision to drop key players has been made as this was the stance FRU has taken before.
He added that even if the four players feature in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s this weekend, still they won't get selected into the final 12-member squad to Hong Kong and Adelaide.
The team to Hong Kong will be named after the Marist 7's final on Saturday at the Post Fiji Stadium.
