Savou needs experienced players-Serevi
Serevi said that at the international stage, experience plays a key role in winning a tournament and he is surprised that Savou has opted to use the IRB 7s series to mould new players.
But, Savou has pointed out that when he took over the coaching role from the wizard he was faced with the challenge of putting together a new team as experienced players like Semisi Naevo, William Ryder, Nasoni Roko and Mosese Volavola took up overseas contracts.
He believes that while experience is good for the team it also has its downfall and one has to look at the 2006 Dubai and George 7s results where we only reached the semi-finals with a team that had experienced players.
Savou admitted that he has high respect for Serevi's input to the game of 7's but one has to abide by the criteria that the FRU has set out.
The 12 member team to Wellington and San Diego will be named this Saturday at Churchill Park.
