Current LDS senior boy’s 100 metres sprinter and Blue-ribbon Coca Cola Games champion, Mataiasi Savou won his race clocking 11 seconds and his main threat in this zone meet is Sefanaia Naivalu of Nasinu Secondary who ran the race in 11.26 seconds.

Savou's time at the Coca Cola finals last year stands at 10.7seconds.

Meanwhile, Coca Cola Games Coordinator Vuli Waqa has confirmed that since Savou is born in 1991, he then qualified to participate in the annual secondary schools athletics meet next month.

Looking at the Fijivillage Medal tally, Dudley High School continues to lead the boys division with 2 gold and 1 silver.

Tied in second place are MGM, Suva Muslim, RSMS and LDS with 1 gold each and third is John Wesley with 3 silver medals.

In the girls division Wainimakutu lead with 1 gold and 2 silver, Cathedral and MGM are tied at second place with 1 gold each and third is Dudley with 1 silver.

16 schools are taking part, and Dudley High School is the boys zone defending champions while Ballantine Memorial School are the defending girls zone champions.

The 100 metres finals will be held later this afternoon.
