Julian Savea will not play for the Hurricanes against the Stormers on Friday night.

The All Blacks wing has made himself unavailable and did not train with his teammates today, two days after appearing in Wellington District Court charged with common assault.

There had been much speculation as to whether Savea would continue to play following a tearful apology on Sunday to his partner Dawn Rodgers for an earlier incident that led to the assault charge.

The Hurricanes will host the Stormers at 7.35pm Friday.
