Hurricanes wing Julian Savea has been dropped from the 23 man squad to face the Kings.
Jason Woodward will now start in the No.11 jersey and Matt Proctor is the outside backs cover on the bench.
Savea is, in theory, one of the most lethal weapons in world rugby but his form hasn’t been too threatening so far.
Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd said a fortnight ago that the more rugby Savea got, the better he would get.
Now he’s sitting in the stands, ahead of the team having their first bye of the season next week.
The Hurricanes play the Kings at 6.35pm Friday.
