Samy gave views on road map
In an interview with Niu FM in NZ, Samy revealed that he sent notes to the interim government after some discussions and they were accepted by the administration.
It has also been confirmed that another former Fiji citizen who is living in NZ, Francis Narayan was also approached to give some of his views on the proposed roadmap to democracy.
Although Village News has received confirmation that a number of views were sought from people before the idea to have a National Council for Building a Better Fiji and a People's Charter were formulated, Ousted Opposition Leader, Mick Beddoes maintains that the economists, Samy and Narayan were the architects of the proposal.
Beddoes said the names of those involved in planning the roadmap to democracy should be made public.
Meanwhile Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Parmesh Chand said the initiative and the proposal for the formation of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji and the development of a People's Charter for Change and Progress is entirely that of the Prime Minister's office and no one else.
In a statement, Parmesh Chand said that claims of the Charter being externally driven by ex-Fiji residents are mischievous and misleading.
