The National Council of Building a Better Fiji Head of the Technical and Support Secretariat John Samy is going with the interim Prime Minister to New York for the 63rd UN General Assembly to advise him on the work on the draft People's Charter.
NCBBF member Jone Dakuvula said reports of John Samy going to address the Assembly is wrong as he is only going as an advisor to the interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama.
Dakuvula said one of the issues that the interim Prime Minister will be speaking on in New York will be that of the draft People's Charter and that is the reason why John Samy had been asked to be part of the delegation.
Dakuvula added the cost of Samy's trip was approved at the last NCBBF meeting last week.
Commodore Bainimarama, Samy and Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office Parmesh Chand as well as other government officials will leave for New York today after the cabinet meeting.
The UN General Assembly is represented by 192 member nations.
