The Head of the Technical and Support Secretariat for the National Council For Building A Better Fiji (NCBBF), said it's unfortunate that fellow member and Nasinu Mayor Rajeshar Kumar, chose to publicly air his views on the proposed changes to the Electoral Act instead of talking to him first.
John Samy said he respects the rights of Kumar to express his views and he has no right to tell anyone what to say or believe irrespective of whether he's a NCBBF member or not.
However, Samy said that he was surprised by Kumar's comments as he was part of the Council meeting which had endorsed the proposed changes.
Rajeshwar Kumar had revealed in an interview with our sister station Radio Sargam that he does not agree with the NCBBF's proposed changes to the Electoral Act and he maintains that the changes proposed by the Reeves Commission is best for the country.
