Samoan 7s stars Uale Mai and Ofisa Treviranus has been released from XVs duties to play in the New Zealand International 7s tournament next week.

Mai and Treviranus were not part of the Samoan team for the opening lef of the IRB World 7s Series in Dubai and George last month.

With the inclusion of these two players, Samoa 7s coach Stephen Betham believes his side will be in for a good competition and also have a chance of winning it.

Betham said the 12-man squad selected is the best Samoa has to offer.

The top players in the side include Lolo Lui, Mikaele Pesamino, Simaika Mikaele, Uale Mai and Ofisa Treviranus.

Samoa is pooled with Argentina, France and Canada in Wellington.

They currently lie in 4th place behind New Zealand, Fiji and England on the points standings.
