Samoa works on defending world 7s series crown
The Stephen Betham coached side currently sits third on the points table and is 12 points behind the point leaders England and New Zealand.
It was on the same ground last year that his side ended a three year drought winning 33-10 over New Zealand and then marching on to bag their first Series title after winning in Australia, Hong Kong and Scotland.
Betham believes his side can do the same this year.
Meanwhile, Samoa has lost the services of captain Lolo Lui who has been benched for the next seven games following a ruling by the IRB Disciplinary Committee for a deliberate kick on an English player during their semi final encounter in the New Zealand 7s last week.
Samoa is in Pool D with South Africa, hosts USA and Japan.
Fiji is in Pool C with Australia, Scotland and Canada and will take on Canada in their first Pool game at 7.52am on Sunday.
