The Samoan Rugby 7s team displayed a scintillating performance to win the Oceania section of the Fiji Water Centennial Oceania and International 7s beating Fiji 31-17 in the final.

Samoa dominated the game scoring five tries with robust prop forward Timoteo Misioka grabbing a hatrick.

Coach Viliamu Punivalu said the win was a morale booster for the players but they have a lot of areas to work on.

Meanwhile, Fiji scored three tries to Samu Saqiwa with Samisoni Viriviri dotting down twice.

Despite the loss, Coach Ben Ryan is positive of the team selected for the first leg of the IRB World 7s Series.

However, the Wardens 7s team playing as the Fiji Barbarians defied all odds to beat 7s giants Argentina 19-5 to win the International section of the Fiji Water Centennial Oceania and International 7s.
