The Samoan soccer team is the best ranked team in the South Pacific in the latest FIFA ranking.
Samoa has moved 55 places to be ranked 149.
Other Pacific countries like Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Island and New Caledonia are all behind Samoa in this ranking.
Fiji dropped from 158 to 168 while Pacific Games champion, New Caledonia is now placed 166, Vanuatu is ranked 174, Tonga at 176 and the Solomon Island are staying at 180.
Reigning European and world champions Spain finished the year on top.
Second placed Netherlands and Germany in third were unable to close the gap.
New Zealand is on the 119th.
Meanwhile, Men in Black Ba and Suva will play the first match of the 2012 Pillay Garments Champions League next month.
Ba Suva match will be played at Ratu Cakobau Park on Friday January 13th at 5pm.
Defending Champions Rewa will face Labasa on the same day at 7pm.
Champions League round robin matches will be played from 13th to 15th January. The team with maximum points will win the Champions League.
