The Samoan Rugby Union has ruled out bidding to join the expanded Super 15.

SANZAR is asking for expressions of interest, including an invitation to Samoa, but the Pacific Island's Union has declined.

CEO Peter Schuster said it would be impossible to get a professional franchise set up in such a short time.

He said Samoa may be interested if the competition has further expansion in the future.

At the same time, Sanzar sent letters to the national rugby unions of Fiji, Argentina, Canada, Japan, the United States and Tonga, telling them they were not currently seen as potential expansion locations.
