Fiji born Reds Lock, Radike Samo has been named in the run-on team for the squad's Friday clash against the Melbourne Rebels.
This is part of the three changes brought about in the side as captain James Horwill and lock Van Humphries have been ruled out through injury.
Coach Ewen McKenzie said bringing in Samo will see more depth in the side as he is one of the team's most experienced players.
This Friday at 9.40pm, the Reds face the Rebels in Brisbane while earlier in the evening at 6.35pm, Chiefs take on the Sharks in Hamilton.
