Sami ready for investigation
Sami's comments came after the Fiji Labour Party called on FICAC to investigate Sami for alleged abuse of office and alleged gross mismanagement leading to the current critical financial positions of the company.
However, Sami stressed he has done nothing wrong.
FLP's Acting General Secretary Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi said Sami must also be answerable to the shareholders of company, the majority shareholders who are cane farmers, for corporate mismanagement and alleged reckless abuse of company funds.
He added by the time Sami resigned as chairman in May 2007, South Pacific Fertilizer had eroded its accumulated profits of $10 million and owed $8m to the grower’s fund, a debt it had no way of repaying.
Meanwhile, FICAC confirmed that they haven't received any official complaint from FLP as yet.
Sami could not be reached for comments.
