A salesman at Auto World Car Dealers Limited in Vatuwaqa was found guilty of fraudulent conversion and told to pay $450 to the company.
On the 30th of October, Mohammed Iqbal received $450 dollars from a school teacher who purchased a car from the company, for the car insurance.
Upon inquiry from the complainant, it was found that instead of giving the money for insurance, Iqbal used the money for himself.
The amount was paid in full to the court today by Iqbal and in mitigation he asked for leniency because he had paid the money owed.
The accused will be sentenced on the 9th of next month.
