Adi Cakobau School sprint queen, Elenoa Sailosi is confident that she will improve her performance in this year's Coca Cola Games.
Sailosi's dream of becoming the girl’s 100 metres champion was dashed last year after suffering a hamstring injury prior to the national finals but she is aiming for a good turnaround this year.
However, Sailosi scooped the blue ribbon for the girl’s division during the Triple N Zone with a time of 12.75 seconds and also broke Makelesi Bulikiobo's 200 metres record with the new time of 25.50 seconds.
Despite a stunning performance from the zone meet, Sailosi said there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Sailosi will face stiff competition from defending Coca Cola Games blue ribbon champion Sisilia Seavula of St Joseph's Secondary School who also won the 100 meters during the Suva Zone two with a time of 12.51 seconds in the 100 metres and 25.69 seconds in the 200 metres event.
Meanwhile, the first day of the torch relay came to an end in the last hour.
The torch which was used during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics is expected to spend the night at Adi Cakobau School before it continues its journey around the country tomorrow.
The Coca Cola Games will be held on the 25th and 26th of this month.
