With just 5 days to go for Christmas, 3 young girls have lost their father Joji Talairatu 39 after he was killed in a head-on collision in Afghanistan on Tuesday, December 8.
The three girls namely Samailagi Maritina 15, Mere Rabeua 13 and 18 month old Bulou Diama Baleisala are still shocked to have found out that their dad, commonly known as "Froggie" will not be with them this Christmas.
Talairatu, formerly from Nuku, Natogadravu in Tailevu was assistant manager for Australian security firm COMPASS based in Kabul at the time of his death.
A fellow colleague and security officer, Isoa Raduva said that details leading to his death are sketchy as investigations continue and his body is still in Afghanistan, before it is cleared and released to be brought to Fiji.
Talairatu is survived by his mother Mere Raboto, his three daughters and his partner Ruvina.
