Sacked Special Administrator for Sigatoka and Nadi, Aisea Tuidraki and sacked CEO of the Nadi Town Council, Nemia Tagi have opted not to comment on the allegations levelled against them.

It has been confirmed that they are now out of office.

The Attorney General said the changes were made in the interest of transparency and better service delivery for the residents of both towns.

He said Tuidraki and Tagi are being investigated by FICAC.

Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said there are serious complaints in relation to Tuidraki and Tagi's conduct, including allegations of favouritism in the allocation of jobs and contracts.

It is also alleged that the office of the Special Administrator was not keeping proper records.

Sayed-Khaiyum said while charges are yet to be laid, the government is extremely concerned that both men had declined to cooperate fully with FICAC.

Sayed-Khaiyum said in Nadi, Praveen Bala, the Special Administrator of Lautoka, will assume the responsibilities of Special Administrator until such a time as Tuidraki's successor is announced while Jay Whyte, prominent businessman and tourism industry figure, will become Sigatoka's Special Administrator.

Whyte will appoint a committee of local stakeholders to assist him in his duties.

Sayed-Khaiyum added that the government is also very grateful that Whyte has offered to perform the role of Special Administrator in Sigatoka for no remuneration.
