SSP Antonio tightlipped on Ali’s seized vehicle
When contacted by Village, SSP Antonio confirmed that Ali is now without an official vehicle however he said that it is not in relation to his investigations.
Village questioned Antonio further whether the vehicle was seized because Ali refused to meet with him, Antonio referred the questions to Inspector Ali. SSP Antonio said investigations against Ali are ongoing and he will continue with his normal duties until investigations are complete.
A senior police officer confirmed to Village news that that Deputy Police Commissioner Eroni Antonio requested a meeting with Nasir Ali to discuss the allegations of abuse of authority with issues like the detention of a special police constable at the Central Police Station, a complaint from a taxi driver and few other allegations levelled against him. However Ali refused to respond to Antonio's request.
Earlier today, the Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni stressed that the investigations in relation to the, Nasir Ali is an internal matter and no details will be made public.
Commodore Teleni said he will decide on the next step only after he receives a full report on the allegations levelled against Ali and the evidence gathered in relation to the case.
