After fourteen years, the South Pacific Stock Exchange has gone technological and online.
This morning the Stock Exchange launched the Extreme System where brokers and people interested in buying shares into companies will now be able to access the Stock exchange online.
Stock Exchange Chief Executive, Jinita Prasad this morning said that this is a very huge step as this will see a whole change in their way of buying and selling stock.
She added that this system means a huge reduction in the margin of error, less paper work, greater efficiency.
Prasad also adds that this will mean better access for the public.
The $200,000 Extreme System was this morning launched by Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum along with the South Pacific Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, the New York Stock exchange has put up a banner in Time Square in congratulating Fiji's move to electronic system.
