The Social Democratic and Liberal Party is expected to announce their proposed candidates to contest the 17th September general elections this Saturday.
However SODELPA General Secretary, Pio Tabaiwalu confirms that they will not announce 50 names as only a handful of people from the non i-Taukei community have applied to contest the election under the SODELPA banner.
Tabaiwalu said this was revealed after a thorough analysis by the party’s selection committee.
The announcement will be made at the Suva Civic Auditorium where the proposed candidates, party officials and supporters will be present.
Tabaiwalu said the proposed candidates will start their party campaign in the Northern Division from the 18th of this month.
