Tailevu secondary school rugby giants QVS and RKS should not rely on past reputation to win this week’s Deans quarterfinal against Suva Grammar 1 and the number 2 team.
Fiji Secondary School Rugby Association president Suliasi Lutubula said the Grammarian U-19 team have proved that they can match both QVS and RKS in the playoff stage.
Lutubula said while the QVS team is the winner of the Eastern Zone, they should be reminded that they have failed to reach the finals since 2003 as they were beaten by the boys from Veiuto in the semifinal.
He added that both RKS and QVS have a lot to play for on Saturday as the last 7 year record is not in their favour when it comes to the playoff stage against Grammar.
The first Deans under 19 quarterfinal will kick off at 12:40pm at the Post Fiji Stadium between Lomawai and Nasinu Secondary. Then at 2pm, Lelean takes on Nakauvadra College while at 3:20pm QVS plays Suva Grammar Two and the last quarterfinal at 4:40pm will be played between RKS and Suva Grammar One.
