The SDL has expressed shock and is saddened at the untimely passing of former Lieutenant Colonel and Ousted Minister in the SDL government Savenaca Draunidalo in a boating accident on Saturday afternoon in Naroi waters in Moala, Lau.
National Director, Peceli Kinivuwai said Draunidalo was a vital member and key component of the SDL even though he had entered the political arena as an Independent.
Ousted Labour Minister in the SDL Multi Party Government Krishna Datt said Draunidalo was one of the hardworking ministers and his passing away is a huge loss to Fiji.
Police confirm that Draunidalo went fishing with two relatives when their open fiber boat capsized due to strong winds and he hit his head on the overturned boat.
Draunidalo was 58 years of age and is survived by his wife and three children. He was laid to rest yesterday afternoon at his village in Naroi, Moala.
