The Former Prime Minister and Leader of the SDL Party said the decision to promote the Draft Charter to 18yr old students is an attempt to pressure people for their support.
Laisenia Qarase adds the exposure of 18yr olds to the political ideologies in the Draft Charter is also a violation of their basic freedom.
And the Methodist Church General Secretary, Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu said while the legality of the Charter process is still pending in court, it is a wrong time to take the Charter to the schools as students prepare for exams.
However, NCCBF Secretariat member Jone Dakuvula said an 18yr old's opinion on the Draft Charter is important as he or she will be voting in the next election.
