The ousted members of the SDL who have lodged an official police complaint against Commodore Frank Bainimarama and the RFMF for alleged treason have provided police with certain evidence which they feel must compel them to investigate the matter.
Lawyer representing ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase and others, Niko Nawaikula told Legend FM that they have provided various information relating to the treason investigations after the 2000 coup and expect police to proceed with their case.
According to Nawaikula they also expect police to now start questioning the complainants and those implicated.
Meanwhile, Director Police Operations SSP Waisea Tabakau confirmed that the Police top brass will decide how to proceed with the complaint, taking into account the case already before the courts while ensuring the rights of the complainants as well.
