SDL Lodges Complaint Against Interim PM/RFMF
SDL National Director Peceli Kinivuwai confirmed that the complaint was lodged at the Central Police Station this afternoon and the complainants include the Ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase, Samisoni Tikoinasau, Ted Young, Mere Samisoni and Dr. Tupeni Baba.
According to Kinivuwai, ousted Opposition Leader Mick Beddoes and Adi Sivia Qoro have joined them in the action and they are now calling on the Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni to step aside to allow investigations to begin, since he is also implicated in the allegations.
The SDL said the complainants expect the police to attend to all formalities, interviews and other actions necessary to formalize their complaint and investigations may reveal other individuals who may need to be investigated and charged.
Speaking to Fijivillage just moments ago, Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni said the SDL should understand that the matter is already before the courts. Teleni stressed that the Police will not allow the SDL to use such tactics to try and cause instability in the country.
Teleni said he is now on his way to be briefed by his Senior Officers in the complaint lodged against Commodore Bainimarama and the RFMF.
