The Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua is calling for swift and thorough investigations into the death threats made against the High Commissioner to Australia over the last few weeks so that Fiji can live up to the full obligation for a safe Fiji for all.

In their resolutions, released on Friday the SDL general assembly said that under the Vienna Convention, all diplomats entering the country are guaranteed safety. The SDL went on to call upon the interim administration to allow the Australian Government to allow additional security personnel into the country to provide security for their diplomats up until we can truly say that they are safe.

Meanwhile, the party also raised concern at the way the Kadavu House rent arrears were handled by the Interim Finance Minister.

According to the general assembly, the move by Mahendra Chaudhry to terminate the rent agreement shows that he is undermining Fijian business initiatives.

And calls on the Interim Prime Minister to step up and try to resolve the issue.
