The ousted Prime Minister and other SDL members are now waiting for the Police Commissioner's decision on whether the force would follow the rule of law and investigate the treason complaint.
Laisenia Qarase who gave his statement to the police yesterday is now waiting for Commodore Esala Teleni's announcement although the Commissioner had made it clear already that no treason investigations will be conducted.
Qarase had also raised concern over Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry's statement in relation to the SDL's treason complaint.
Chaudhry told Fijivillage today that Qarase should think of the position he had taken after the May 2000 coup before proceeding with his treason complaint against the current administration.
Mahendra Chaudhry said Qarase actually took up the interim Prime Minister's position after the Labour led government was overthrown, and at the time Qarase had no problems with anything that had happened.
