The Suva City Council is expected to have talks with stakeholders to assist 85 families of Muanivatu settlement to resettle outside Suva.

Special Administrator for Suva Vijendra Prakash said they are planning to have meetings with the Housing Authority, Native Land Trust Board and Housing Ministry to look for a piece of land where these residents could be accommodated.

These residents have been given more time to vacate the land following a meeting with the Suva City Council on Tuesday.

The Council is planning to preserve the Muanivatu land and its natural environment as an attraction.
