The Suva City Council has managed to collect close to 12 million dollars in rates owed to the council.
Suva City Council Special Administrator, Chandu Umaria said people are taking their warning seriously however there are still some ratepayers who have not paid their rates or have not made any arrangements with the council to pay their dues.
Umaria added that they have taken action against four property owners who have not paid their rates and the court is expected to make a decision on these properties soon.
He stressed that action will also be taken against those property owners who may be owing money to other institutions such as banks.
