The Suva City Council is in the process of placing security cameras in strategic locations within the capital, with the project expected to be completed at the end of the year.

Suva-Lami Special Administrator Marica Hallacy said this is part of the Crime Free Suva Project in partnership with the Police Force and work is in the pipeline to get the first 8 cameras installed soon.

Hallacy said a total of 52 cameras are expected to be put up with the cost estimated to be $100,000.
