From yesterday, the Suva City Council will not allow people to sell DVDs and music CDs on footpaths in Suva.

The Council warned traders against the illegal sale of DVD and CDs as spokesperson Jillian Hicks said people caught selling will be taken to task by the council.

Hicks said people obtained licenses from the Council to sell these items on the side of footpaths, however, these have not been renewed as the Council are trying to clear the streets.

Meanwhile, SCC will seek assistance from police to assist in catching people selling DVDs and CDs openly on the streets.

Hicks also said that illegal sale of other items will also be monitored.
