A major operation to remove the extremely harmful Asbestos from the roofing of the Suva municipal market is set to get underway in the next few weeks.
That's the revelation by Suva Lord Mayor Ratu Peni Volavola who said that before the work to remove asbestos gets underway, they have to finalize the new site to which they will move the current market vendors. He said once work is complete they will then decide on the new charges.
Volavola had earlier revealed in May that work was set to start in April but deferred the work to finalize a new area to house the vendors until the work is complete.
