The Suva City Council is expected to carry out a major road upgrade in the Central Division within the next few weeks.
Speaking to Fijivillage News, Director Engineering Services Jagdish Singh revealed that they will start upgrading lower Bureta Street which is expected to cost around $40,000.
Singh adds that a substantial amount of work is to be done which could take a couple of months.
He adds that a submission has been made to the Public Works Minister for funding.
Meanwhile, Nasinu Mayor Rajeshwar Kumar said they will only be able to patch the potholes as the major construction of roads is the responsibility of the Public Works Department.
