All Black centre Sonny Bill Williams (SBW) has revealed that he is trying to convince Wallaby playmaker Quade Cooper to join him in making a switch to rugby league.

Williams, who is currently plying his trade with the Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan, is set to make a return to the NRL competition in 2013 and believes Cooper could make a successful move to rugby league.

Williams said if people are saying Cooper is not wanted in rugby, if they think Cooper is not good enough to be playing for Australia, then he would love to lure him across to rugby league for a year.

SBW added he would definitely love to play alongside Cooper and he thinks Cooper would be a success in rugby league.

Williams also said that he has spoken to Cooper about this.

Meanwhile, Cooper is expected to start for the Wallabies against the Springboks this Saturday for another round of the Rugby Championship at 10:35pm.

In the other match, the All Blacks will host Argentina at 7:35pm Saturday.
