Digicel Fiji 7s utility back William Ryder returns to the New Zealand 7s with high hopes he can repeat Fiji's 2006 winning performance in Wellington.

Ryder and Setefano Cakau are the only survivors from the side that beat South Africa 27-22 in the final four years ago.

This weekend's pool game will also mark Ryder's return to Wellington after two years.

Ryder has welcomed the inclusion of Police speedsters Waisale Beci and Josefata Bole, with either one being ear-marked for the wing position, where Ryder failed to impress when they lost in the last leg of the IRB 7's series in Dubai and George.

The Wainunu lad from Bua said he has faith in Bole and Beci to provide the speed out wide to end Fiji's four year losing streak in New Zealand.
