Japan based rugby player William Ryder will arrive into the country next week but he will not be called in to join the Digicel Fiji 7's team in their training camp.

Coach Josateki Savou has confirmed that while the door for selection is open to Ryder, he will have to prove his fitness to the national selectors and will have to be part of the National 7's trials on January 19th to be considered for selection.

Ryder returns to the country after his Toyota club in Japan failed to make it to the top 4 in the overall point’s standings.

The selectors have earmarked Dan Rawaqa to be one of the front runners for the play-maker position.

The Fiji 7's Team to the Wellington and San Diego 7's will be named on the 19th of January after the National 7's at Churchill Park.
