Davetalevu 7s team play-maker Jerry Tuwai is on a mission as he gets ready to make his debut for the Vodafone Fiji 7s team in the Gold Coast 7s this weekend.
Speaking from Gold Coast, Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan said Tuwai has shown confidence in the Oceania 7s which makes it easier for him to make a decision on Emosi Mulevoro’s replacement.
Tuwai who is a former Bishop Kempthorne Memorial School student started his rugby career with the Newtown Rugby Club in Nasinu.
Being brought up his father who is a diver and his mother who had to work as a house girl to support his two brothers and sisters, Tuwai said he never lost hope and was always encouraged by his parents to keep on pushing for a spot in the national side.
The 24-year-old from Buca, Cakaudrove added he is willing to put his body on the line and prove his worth in the national team.
Fiji will take on Scotland in their first match at 2.02pm Saturday. We will then face Portugal at 5.23pm before taking on Australia at 9.01pm Saturday.
The quarterfinals will be at 12.48pm Sunday, the semifinals will kick off at 4.53pm while the final will be held at 7.49pm.
