Vodafone Fiji 7s team coach Ben Ryan has admitted they did not play well against England in the Cup semifinal of the Hong Kong 7s.
Speaking from Hong Kong last night, Ryan said despite the loss in the Cup semifinal, he is happy with the overall performance of the players.
Ryan added they will have to move forward and plan ahead for the last leg of the IRB World 7s Series.
Fiji lost to England 17-7.
Fiji had no answer to the well organized defense of England as they scored two early tries in the first half to lead 14-0 at halftime.
Replacement playmaker Waisea Nacuqu came in the second half and scored Fiji’s only points but it was not enough as England dominated possession to win the match.
Fiji then went on to win third place after beating Australia 21-12.
The Osea Kolinisau captained side is in Pool C in Glasgow and will take on Kenya, Wales and Argentina on the 4th and 5th of May.
Meanwhile, the All Blacks 7s team has retained their lead in the IRB World 7s Series after beating England 26-7 to claim the Hong Kong 7s title.
New Zealand now leads the series with 136 points, South Africa is second with 129 points while Fiji remains in the third place with 112 points.
