Digicel Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan believes that Fiji can repeat their flawless performance in the Dubai 7s in other tournaments if they get things right back home.

The Digicel Fiji 7s team created history this morning after winning their first Dubai 7s title, beating South Africa 29-17.

Ryan has praised the talent in the Fiji team and said the team needs to build on the win.


Fiji scored five tries and dominated the first half as they led 19-nil at halftime.

Fiji’s tries came from Samisoni Viriviri, Emosi Mulevoro, Leo Naikasau while Benito Masilevu scored two tries.

Lanky forward Pio Tuwai and Semi Kunatani exploited the high kick offs in retaining possession.

South Africa fought back in the second half scoring three tries as Jona Tuitoga was shown a yellow card with three minutes from full time.

Fiji is now second on the IRB World Sevens Series with 35 points, New Zealand still leads with 39 points while South Africa is on third place with 34 points.
 
Earlier on in the semifinals Fiji hammered New Zealand 44-nil in a record breaking performance.

Fiji scored eight tries and never looked back in the match as they dominated every aspect of the game and recorded their biggest ever score line over the All Black 7s team.

Fiji led 29-nil at halftime. 

New Zealand finished third beating England 17-14 in third place playoff.
